Mounting hardware
Wall mounting hardware, explained
Every kit comes with its own adjustable hybrid stand. Here's what it does in wall mode, how fixings get chosen, and why we don't sell separate brackets.
01
The hybrid stand in wall mode
It's one stand for the wall or the ground. On a wall it fixes to solid masonry and holds the panels out at an angle, set within the maker's limits and the planning limits on how far a panel can stick out.
The angle is a trade-off. Steeper favours the low winter sun; tipped further back favours the high summer sun. We'll publish the stand's exact settings once the maker confirms them.
Never fix a kit with cable ties, rope, straps or tape.
02
Fixings by wall material
Fixings aren't in the box, because they depend on your wall. The professional assessment the maker requires picks them.
| Wall | Can take a kit? | What the assessor looks at |
|---|---|---|
| Solid brick | Yes, after assessment | The brick and mortar condition, and fixings to suit |
| Cavity brick or block | Yes, after assessment | Whether the outer leaf can carry the load |
| Natural stone | Yes, after assessment | The stone and pointing, and where fixings can safely go |
| Render over masonry | Yes, after assessment | The masonry behind the render, which is what the fixings rely on |
| Timber, or any cladding (ACM, MCM, HPL) | No | Excluded for plug-in kits |
Whatever the material, the wall must be your own house wall, not on a property boundary, and the building mustn't be having external wall remediation.

What the supplier allows
We sell each kit exactly as the maker registered it, stand included. A kit with swapped parts is no longer the registered kit.
Separate brackets, tilt brackets and fixing packs aren't on sale. We'll only list them if the maker confirms they're approved parts for the registered kit.
Can I buy an adjustable tilt bracket?
Not from us. The kit's own stand is already adjustable. We'd only sell a separate bracket if the maker approved it as a part for the registered kit.
Can I use brackets from another brand?
No. Swapping the mounting changes the registered kit. Use the stand that comes in the box.
